Maggie Shield

Practicum Student

Maggie is a Masters Level Student providing individual therapy to adult, child, and adolescent clients. She aims to create an empathetic and affirming environment to foster self-reflection, identity development, and exploration of her client’s goals for the future. Maggie believes the foundation of therapy to be a trusting and collaborative environment where clients can feel free to explore how they relate to themselves, their relationships, and the world around them.

Maggie has experience working with adults, children and adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, grief and loss, self-esteem, self-harm and more. She draws on multiple theories, focusing on an integration of past experiences, exploration of values, and incorporation of mindfulness to cope with life’s challenges. In session, she hopes to utilize curiosity, understanding, and creativity to help her clients navigate a path forward.

Maggie earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Humanistic Philosophy from Villanova University and is currently working on her Master of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University. In her free time, she likes spending time with family, reading, and playing the guitar.
