Kayla Kroeker

Practicum Student

Kayla is a Masters Level Student providing therapy for both individuals and couples. In her therapeutic approach, she focuses on how people bring meaning to their lives through relationships with others, the experience of storytelling, and by connecting with their past experiences. She believes that therapy is built on the unique relationship between the therapist and the patient, which provides the patient with uninterrupted time to discuss their lives, feelings, and goals for the future. By providing a safe space for healthy communication, Kayla prioritizes a foundation of trust and mutual understanding so that the patient is willing to explore the challenges they are facing and find ways to overcome them.

Kayla has worked with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, personality disorders, grief, addiction, their sexuality, and relational struggles. She has a desire to work with all types of patients because of the understanding that can be found through walking in others’ shoes and viewing the world through their lens. Nonetheless, she has a heart for individuals and couples who are facing difficulties in their relationships with others and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Kayla earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University and is currently working on her Master of Arts in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. Outside of work and hanging out with friends, Kayla spends her time drawing, reading, running, and writing music.
